Bit of a new one for me, writing from Ibrox... but you have to seize moments like this!!

We're on our way!!!

This team deserve so much credit, what they have achieved with this milestone is unreal. European football is not designed for teams from Scotland to make finals anymore, yet here we are. 

Gio also deserves tremendous credit, the job he's done in Europe is amazing. He's had his criticism, fairly, in the league at times but what he's achieved these last few months can not be praised enough. 

It's also important to note how much the team are playing for him. Two old firms we've come from 1-0 down to get results. A Europa Quarter Final and a Europa Semi Final coming back from 1-0 defeats in the 1st leg. These results don't happen if the squad aren't playing for the manager.

All this with no Alfredo Morelos too!

What a great first goal as the captain, Tavernier made the run in to the back post to score the goal that I'm sure makes him Europa League top scorer this season... a right back in Scotland. Let that sink in. And some question his worth (looking at you @sasahans5).

If you thought the 1st goal was good, Kamara... wow. A great lay off by Scott Wright, who I've been critical of so will give credit where due too, and Kamara's finish was perfect. 

Aribo could have ended it shortly after but was unlucky. Unfortunately his game ended soon after and we all wish him well. Its never nice to see someone receive a head injury.

2-0 at HT had the home crowd jumping.

The second half was a heart in throat 45mins. 

For a brief minute the crowd were silenced when Leipzig scored to make the tie 2-2 on aggregate. 

But thanks to heroics from McGregor, doing what he's made a career out of, saving a great chance for Leipzig and a tremendous goal from John Lundstram meant we are on our way to face Frankfurt.

This will go down as one of the greatest achievements in Scottish football... and there's nothing to say there's not more to come. 

I for one am feeling it.

Sunday the 8th of December 2019. That is when Steven Gerrards Rangers last lost an Old Firm game. Fast forward 6 Old Firms and 17 months later and Rangers have just skelped the other half of the Old Firm 4-1 in the final one of the season.  That's despite missing Helander, Balogun, Katic, Patterson, Bassey, Jack, Zungu, and Arfield to either injury or suspension. No one likes us, we don't care

  Rangers have just beaten Livingston 3-0 in an extremely comfortable game at the Spaghettiad. A game we dominated from start to finish, albeit one or two shaky moments. A game where we were forced to play a centreback we brought in in January to get used to the club, with no real intentions of needing to play and one of our attacking midfielders at left-back. A game where we played our backup goalkeeper. Yet we made the game look like a routine training game despite the pitch. That game took our season total to 99 points and means that after 37 games, with 1 more game to go to reach 100 points and an invincible league campaign.  This morning Steven Gerrard was named the Scottish Football Writer's Manager of the year after guiding Rangers to the earliest league title in 119 years, when the season was much shorter, and after 4 manager of the month awards and an outstanding European campaign that raised Scottish football's co-efficient to 11th and means automatic qualification fo

Who's Next?!

I started my last article with "There's never a dull moment being a Rangers fan, even in international breaks we manage to find some sort of drama". Boy was I right.  Thursday brought the news we were all dreading for most of this week. Steven Gerrard was officially announced as the new Aston Villa manager. It was a quick ride, from being linked on Monday, which I dismissed as nothing but "lazy journalism", to being installed as the bookies favourite Tuesday, betting suspended Wednesday, and then appointed Thursday.  I still didn't believe it as the bookies were shortening the odds. "It's just because people are backing it due to the newspaper reports" I told myself. I was so sure there was nothing in it. I hadn't expected it at all. I was sure he was happy at Rangers.
