Wow... Just wow. I honestly never saw the result last night coming. I did put money on us to win, but 1-0.  I expected us to go into the game with a plan to absorb pressure and hit on the counter. Much like what I assume the plan was at Parkhead. This time it was much more effective though as we pressed Dortmund right from the get-go. Every time they got the ball we were on them. I think this result shows us, the fans, a lot of things. The Boss  First off Gio is clearly not doing as bad a job as portrayed after the Old Firm defeat. I freely admit I was close to questioning the boss after that defeat. I've been very open in my desire for him to be appointed, even before Steven Gerrard, but after some lacklustre displays after the winter break and the complete capitulation in the Old Firm, I was questioning if it was the right move after all. It's easy to forget how good the team had been before Christmas or to even write some of those results off in the moment after an embarra

The Scout Report: Borussia Dortmund

On the 17th of February Rangers will travel to North Rhine-Westphalia for the first leg of their Europa League Playoff clash with Borussia Dortmund. This will be the first time the two sides have met since the turn of the century, with the Bundesliga outfit firm favourites for the tie  Borussia Dortmund, der BVB, die Schwarzgelben, die Borussen… is probably enough of an Alan McInally introduction given his time with München, in Bayern, with Munich in Germany with Bayern for this article in which case I’ll go on to take a light-hearted look at the history of Rangers upcoming opponents in Scotland, and how they have fared in the 2021/22 season so far.  Regardless of the odds, this Rangers side will relish a chance to take on one of the giants of European football at one of the most iconic stadiums in the World. Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in Germany, only 500 tickets have been made available for the away allocation with a vastly reduced home attendance confirmed.

A Tale of Two Teams

After a fast-paced start to life as Rangers manager Gio seemed to hit the same slump that plagued his predecessor Steven Gerrad throughout his run as Rangers manager. The curse of the winter break.  A near perfect start was interrupted, prematurely, after a win at Ibrox vs. St Mirren and following the restart the performances had been horrendous to say the least.  Draws away to Aberdeen and Ross County sandwiched a poor performance, albeit victory, at home to Livingston and questions had started to be asked of the team.  Why were we starting two holding midfielders in games against lesser opposition? Why were we trying to hold on to slender 1 goal leads instead of pushing for the kill?  The Old Firm Then came the Old Firm. I think most of us were pleased with the team selection, it was what we had anticipated and hoped for.  What we didn't account for though was the tactics. For some reason when starting 2 attacking midfielders, in Joe Aribo and Scott Arfield, we chose to sit in
